     Homeless Ministry

    Homeless Biker Day  -  May 22, 2010

Since Gibby had  bypass surgery in Dec. - the street min. has slowed.  So, we decided to serve the homeless (Big group time), on Sat. May 22.  We took hot food for 250, and 400 sandwiches, and 30 CASES of bottled water downtown, to serve with 7 Bridges to Recovery, a great street ministry.  Here's a video.

Our thanks to King Kustom Cycle, and Crossroads South Fulton for helping us with that event.

Doug, Mike, Wade, and Ralph have all served with  7 Bridges.  Please make it a priority to serve - it matters not if you've ever served food or prayed with homeless folks - 7 Bridges will show you (and our whole group) the ropes, and they know where we need to serve  (This is NOT 6-10 folks heading downtown with 20 hamburgers - we'll serve hundreds).   Here's a flyer for this event.

Pastor 7 Wells rides to serve

Did I mention that Pastor 7 (founder of 7 Bridges) rides a  hog, and will ride with us?   (Yea, he doesn't look like a pastor).  On May 22, two meeting choices:  1) meet at  Crossroads Hwy. 154 campus at 10:30 am, leaving at 10:45 am, or 2) from King Kustom Cycles/Crossroads South Fulton, at 10:45 am, leaving at 11:15 am.   Flyer.

This is a joint venture between Crossroads Bikers, Crossroads South Fulton, and Crossroads Church Newnan, with support of King Kustom Cycles - and partnering with 7 Bridges to Recovery.  Be blessed as you go out to bless those less fortunate.      Homeless Event Flyer

Homeless Ministry

The Crossroads Bikers and our church support two of our members that lead an awesome ministry to homeless men and women in downtown Atlanta.

Doug Landers and Mike Gibby are very faithful to hit the streets every Saturday to take some food and clothing items  -  to Jesus.

Did I say food and clothes for Jesus?  What in the world is that supposed to mean?

Then the King will say to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me."  Then these righteous ones will reply, "Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?"  And the King will say, "I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!"        Matthew 25:34-40 (NLT)

If you've been blessed, then be a blessing to others and support this ministry, with food, extra clothes (particularly men's clothing) you may have, or your time.  If you're free for 4-5 hours on a Saturday, ride with them and deliver some food or clothing to some appreciative people!

Contact Doug Landers at 404.317.4603, or Mike Gibby at 678.328.9750, or email BOTH of them at   homeless@crossroadsbikers.org for more information on homeless ministry.

We also collect coats, blankets, gloves and mittens at church for delivery to homeless in downtown Atlanta with Soldiers of the Cross.    Here's a link to MORE  pictures of that delivery effort!
