The Bible says
man's sins have separated him from God...
"But your iniquities have
separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he
will not hear."
(Isaiah 59:2)
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
(Romans 3:23)
God created us to know and
love Him. But man chose to go his own way and that relationship with God was
broken (Romans 1:19-21).
This attitude and its results are what the Bible calls sin.
This separation
caused by sin creates some severe problems.
Sin causes us to:
Miss God's very best for our
life
"Jesus said... I
have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
(John 10:10)
Face death and
judgement
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Romans 6:23)
"He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord
Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the
presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power "
(II Thessalonians 1:8-9)
BUT...there is a solution.
