Mission Trips

Crossroads Church has a very active short-term missions effort each year, going to 7-8 international destinations (maybe 2 or 3 in U.S.).  We encourage all of our bikers to support Crossroads missions with your prayers, finances, or attendance, if possible.   You do not have to be a member or attender at Crossroads to go on a Mission Trip, but you must agree with our Statement of Faith.

Our First Biker Mission Trip

Crossroads Bikers was a newly formed ministry, but after Aug. 29, 2005 - when Hurricane Katrina devastated the MS/AL Gulf Coast and east LA, we began planning how to be involved in our church's efforts to provide relief.  In Jan. 2006, our biker group planned and led one of the 90 mission trips Crossroads Church sent to the Gulf  Coast.  We took pickup trucks with tools instead of bikes, and our task was to sheetrock a home in Ocean Springs, MS.  Here's pictures of our Katrina 2006 Trip

Biker-Focused Mission Trips

In late 2007, our biker leadership asked church elders if we could plan a biker-oriented mission trip, to the world's largest motorcycle rally (they said Yes!).  In Aug. 2008, our first "annual" mission trip to Sturgis, SD became a reality.  We did Sturgis again in 2009 and 2010, but are switching to Daytona Bike Week for our 2011 mission trip.

     Sturgis Trip 2008

Aug. 2008, was our first sharing at the Dakota Baptist tent on Main Street Sturgismission trip and outreach effort to Sturgis, SD for the 68th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle  Rally.   We thought the trip was very successful, 4 of us serving with the Dakota Baptist Convention.  Here's a full page of pictures from Sturgis 2008.

      Sturgis Trip 2009

For the 69th Annual Sturgis Rally in 2009, we advertised the same mission trip, and had 11 people sign up.  A few backed out, but we had 7 people head for Stugis on 6 motorcycles - the first all biker, all motorcycle mission trip that Crossroads has completed.  SD estimates that 513,008 attended the 2009 Sturgis Rally.  Here's a full page of 2009 pics).

Sturgis Trip 2010

The 70th annual Sturgis Rally was held Sun. Aug. 8th - Sun. Aug. 15, 2010, and SD reported Quite a few bikers drive to Sturgis for the Sturgis Rally! that 601,324 bikers attended (a 17.2 per cent increase from 2009).  It was great to see churches and biker ministries flocking to serve and tell them the good news about Jesus Christ in a practical way.   2010 Sturgis Pictures.

Daytona Beach Trip 2011

The same evangelism/trip model we've used for Sturgis from 2008-2010 came to Daytona Bikeweek in 2011.  The 70th annual Daytona Bike Week was Fri. 3/4 - Sun. 3/13, 2011.  Our trip to Daytona left Sat. 3/5 and returned Sat. 3/12.  We served at a "Bike giveaway tent" with FL Baptist Convention, on N. Beach St. (by original Daytona H-D) from Sun. 3/6-Fri. 3/11.  The cost was $125 plus fuel (the $125 includes lodging and 2 meals per day).

All folks in our church were invited to the three "Three Minute Testimony" training sessions, held on Jan. 9, Feb. 6, and Feb. 27).

Here's pictures from our 2011 Daytona Mission Trip (10 of our people served).

Daytona Beach Trip 2012

The Daytona Trip in 2011 was so successful, we're doing it again in 2012.  Dates are Sat. 3/10 - Sat. 3/17, cost is $125, and sign-up deadline is 12/31/11.  See Sam for details, or go to for Information Sheet to get more information, etc.
